Inaugural Conference Declared a Big Success!

From August 3 through August 6, ABCSW members (and prospective members!) learned, shared, celebrated, and inspired each other at the first conference our organization has ever offered.  It was so well received that there is no doubt we will do it again!

Combining both in-person and virtual attendees, we welcomed almost 200 participants to a program filled with amazing expertise from a diverse array of presenters.  Appreciation was repeatedly expressed for the atmosphere of openness and safety for having some tough conversations around difficult issues.

Our invited speakers sparked lively discussion at the plenary panel event.

If you weren’t able to join us this time, we want to motivate you to come to the next conference.  Maybe these words from our attendees will spark your interest:

  • I thought the conference was absolutely fantastic, in that it provided great content and inspired me to continue my work with some new insights!
  • Overall an amazingly well executed and thoughtful conference
  • Exceptional conference; looking forward to the next one!
  • The conference: 1. Insightful 2. Thought Provoking 3. Personal & Professional Awareness 4. A Vision to Build on New Modalities 5. New Possibilities for Connections
  • Loved the interactions between participants and speakers, board members and staff
  • Speakers uniformly impressive
  • For an inaugural conference this was more than I expected and more than met my expectations for the content delivered and overall experience!
  • I was totally glued to my computer screen during this conference.  It was unlike any other conference I have attended virtually.  The presentations resonated with me. My only regret was not attending in person.

And last but not least—

  • I loved the dance and reception.

Your ABCSW Conference Committee will be starting our work very soon to plan the next conference, while taking all of your input to heart.  If you would like to serve on the Conference Committee, or if you have ideas for the next conference that you would like to share, contact Jana Edwards, LCSW, BCD at [email protected]
